WV State Search and Rescue Exercise - New River Gorge - Sept 24-26 Hi... This weekend wilderness search and rescue teams from across the state and the WV Civil Air Patrol will be converging on the New River Gorge for the annual WVSAR Full Scale Exercise. The exercise is hosted by the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the National Park Service. Teams will be confronted with a realistic scenario of amissing person and with the assistance of Hilltop Care Center in Glen Jean, WV this year's event focuses on Alzheimer's wanderers. The exercise begins Friday, September 24 and will continue through Saturday evening. GeoPro Solutions will also be on hand for teams to try out there GPS-Satellite messaging system and an WV Army National Guard Blackhawk will be demonstrating its patient hoist capabilities.
